Preventing sexual harassment in the workplace 

By the end of the course, participants will be able to identify:

  • the legal definition of sexual harassment
  • the meaning of each element of the legal definition 
  • the various forms sexual harassment can take
  • facts about the prevalence of sexual harassment in the workplace
  • common causes of sexual harassment in the workplace 
  • relevant civil and criminal legislation that can apply in cases of sexual harassment including liability issues
  • relevant internal policy & procedural guidance on preventing, reporting and investigating sexual harassment in the workplace
  • actions to appropriately support people who experience or  witness sexual harassment in their workplace 
  • action to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace based on the EHRC updated Code of Practice - Sexual harassment and harassment at work: technical guidance (2024)
